Step 1
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan with butter or a little non stick spray and set it aside.
Step 2
- Mix your chocolate cake mix following the instructions on the box usually that means combining the cake mix with eggs, oil, and water. Stir in 1 cup of creamy peanut butter until it’s fully blended. Then fold in ½ cup of semi sweet chocolate chips and 1 cup of chopped Reese’s peanut butter cups.
Step 3
- In a medium bowl, beat together 8 oz of softened cream cheese and ½ cup of melted butter until smooth. Add 2 cups of powdered sugar, ½ cup of creamy peanut butter, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Mix until everything is creamy and there are no lumps.
Step 4
- Pour the chocolate peanut butter batter into your prepared pan. Spoon the cream cheese mixture on top in dollops. Then, using a knife or spatula, gently swirl it into the cake batter to create a marbled look.
Step 5
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick in the center comes out with just a few crumbs. Let the cake cool completely in the pan, about 20–30 minutes, before cutting it into squares. If you want, sprinkle a few extra chopped Reese’s peanut butter cups on top before serving.
