Step 1
- Warm the oil in a medium saucepan over low to medium heat. Add the minced garlic and onion, then cook for 1–2 minutes until soft and fragrant.

- Add the ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, yellow mustard, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, and tomato paste. Give everything a good whisk until the sauce looks smooth and well blended.

- Sprinkle in the paprika, chili powder, black pepper, cayenne pepper, sea salt, and turmeric. Pour in the water and stir well, making sure the spices are evenly mixed through the sauce.
Step 4
- Let the sauce come to a gentle simmer, then turn the heat down to low. Leave it uncovered for 14–18 minutes, stirring from time to time, until it thickens slightly and develops a glossy finish.
Step 5
- Take the saucepan off the heat and allow the sauce to cool for a few minutes. Taste it and add a little more salt, cayenne pepper, or sweetness if needed.
