Ingredients

  • 1 cup water 240 ml
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice 15 ml
  • 1 tablespoon organic honey 21 g
  • 1 teaspoon tea powder 2 g or 1 tea bag
  • 1 thin lemon slice about 10 g, for serving
  • A small pinch of black salt about 0.5 g or 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger (2 g)

Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • Measuring spoon
  • Serving cup

Method

Step 1
  1. Pour the water into a small saucepan and bring it to a gentle boil. Add the tea powder or tea bag and ginger, if you’re using it. Let it simmer for 2–3 minutes until the tea reaches the flavor you like. Strain the tea into a cup.
Step 2
  1. Let the tea cool for about a minute (until it is warm, not boiling hot). Add the fresh lemon juice and honey, then stir until the honey dissolves. If you like a slightly savory taste, add a small pinch of black salt. (Note: Adding honey to boiling water can destroy its healthy enzymes).
Step 3
  1. Place a thin lemon slice in the cup and serve the tea warm. Taste it before serving and adjust the lemon juice or honey if needed.
