Ingredients
  

  • 3 –4 fresh habanero peppers stems removed (use fewer for less heat)
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar or honey
  • 1 tablespoon molasses
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 teaspoons dry mustard powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Method
 

Make The Base
  1. Throw the habanero peppers, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar (or honey), and molasses into a blender. Blend it until the mixture is completely smooth.
Cook It Up
  1. Heat a little olive oil or butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Pour in the blended mix, then add Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, red pepper flakes, cayenne, and dry mustard. Stir everything together well.
Let It Simmer
  1. Keep it on a gentle simmer for about 10–15 minutes, giving it a stir every so often, until it thickens slightly. Taste and add salt and pepper as needed. Let it cool down before you store it or serve it.
