Ingredients

  • 4 green tea bags or 4 teaspoons loose green tea
  • 2 cups filtered water
  • 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger root
  • 4 –5 fresh mint leaves lightly crushed
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 –2 cinnamon sticks or 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 –2 teaspoons stevia or monk fruit sweetener
  • A small pinch of turmeric powder

Equipment

  • Small saucepan or tea pot
  • Grater (for ginger)
  • Measuring spoons
  • Strainer or tea infuser
  • Cups or mugs

Method

Start The Base
  1. Put 2 cups of water in a small saucepan and set it over medium heat. Add the grated ginger, cinnamon sticks, and a small pinch of turmeric.
Let It Gently Cook
  1. Allow the mixture to simmer for around 4–5 minutes. This helps the ginger, cinnamon, and turmeric release their flavor into the water.
Add The Tea And Mint
  1. Turn off the heat, then add the mint leaves and the green tea bags (or loose green tea). Let everything sit and steep for about 2–3 minutes.
Strain And Adjust The Taste
  1. Pour the tea through a strainer into cups. Mix in fresh lemon juice and add stevia or monk fruit sweetener if you want a little sweetness.
Enjoy It Warm
  1. Drink the tea while it’s warm. It works well in the morning or anytime between meals if you want something light that helps with digestion and keeps you hydrated.
