Ingredients

  • 240 g water 1 cup
  • 2 g ashwagandha root powder ½ teaspoon
  • 1 g ground cinnamon ¼ teaspoon
  • 1 g freshly grated ginger ¼ teaspoon
  • 7 g honey 1 teaspoon, or maple syrup to taste
  • 15 g warm milk 1 tablespoon or 2.5 g fresh lemon juice (½ teaspoon) Do not use both together as lemon juice will curdle the milk

Equipment

  • Small saucepan
  • Fine mesh strainer
  • Serving mug

Method

Step 1
  1. Add the water, ashwagandha powder, cinnamon, and fresh ginger to a small saucepan. Heat over medium until the mixture starts to gently simmer. Turn the heat down and continue simmering for 4–5 minutes, stirring from time to time.
Step 2
  1. Remove the pan from the stove and pour the tea through a fine strainer into a mug. Discard the ginger pieces and leftover powder. Stir in the honey or maple syrup while the tea is warm so it blends easily.
Step 3
  1. Pour in the warm milk for a creamy finish or a splash of lemon juice if you prefer a tangy taste. Stir until the tea is evenly mixed. Taste before serving and add more sweetener if you prefer a sweeter cup. Serve warm.
